On January 14, the General Administration of Customs of China released data showing that, in dollar terms, China's trade surplus for the whole year of 2018 was US$351.8 billion, imports increased by 15.8% and exports increased by 9.9% year on year. Export growth reached a new high since 2011.
In RMB terms, China's exports grew by 7.1% in 2018, its imports by 12.9% in 2018, and its annual trade surplus was 2.33 trillion yuan.
According to the country, China's total import and export value reached 4.62 trillion US dollars in 2018, exceeding 30 trillion yuan in Renminbi, a new record. Among them, imports exceeded $2 trillion for the first time and exports approached $2.5 trillion.
